Randolph blunder gifts Harriers opener

8:35pm Monday 14th July 2008

HEREFORD trailed by a single goal at the interval of their pre-season friendly with Kidderminster Harriers at Aggborough.

The Bulls fell behind after just two minutes following a blunder by debutant goalkeeper Darren Randolph.

The Eire under-21 international failed to clear a back-pass from Kris Taylor and was robbed by Darryl Knights who walked the ball into the net.

The set-back left Hereford on the back-foot for large portions of the first period although they should have levelled on 31 minutes.

Ben Smith’s superb pass inside the full-back found Matt Done whose cross deserved better than Steve Guinan’s poorly-timed header which flew wide.

Randolph then redeemed himself with two flying saves to deny Knights and Martin Brittain.

The keeper then saved brilliantly, point-blank from a David McDermott drive.
