HEREFORD FC have a prospective fifth founding shareholder who is interested in pumping £50,000 into the club.
Rob Crawford stated his interest a while ago, which has been accepted by the club board and other founding shareholders Mark Blandford, Mark Ellis, Mike Roberts and Nigel Edmondson. However, it was put on hold to allow for the issue of 'fans shares' to go ahead and for the club to consult with Hereford United Supporters Trust (HUST).
Hereford have confirmed that 39,000 ordinary £1 shares have been issued to 24 individual fans.
The proposed issue of 289,000 ordinary shares covers the 239,000 already in use (four founding shareholders at 50,000 each, plus the fans shares), allowing a further 50,000 to be issued. HUST originally agreed to an option of acquiring 250,000 shares over three years in order to obtain 50% ownership.
But it has now been offered £289,000 to allow for Mr Crawford to introduce £50,000 on the same terms as the other founding shareholders.
HUST have therefore been given an extended timeframe of five years to achieve this.
