HEREFORD FC chairman Jon Hale is hopeful that the Edgar Street leases will finally be signed by tomorrow.

Legal teams have been in negotiations discussing the terms of the tenure ever since the new club was announced by Herefordshire Council as their preferred bidder at the end of February.

Hereford FC's business plan has to be sent to Hereford FC by Tuesday, which will include tenure of the Edgar Street ground.

"It's a legal contract and is a big thing for both sides," said Hale.

"We fully understand that the council want to get this right, especially after what has happened in the last nine to 12 months.

"They are under scrutiny as much as everyone.

"They have certainly listened to us and worked with us to ensure the tenancy is on the right platform.

"Frustration has certainly been there but once we get them signed, we can put it firmly behind us and get on with things."

More than 700 fans watched a charity game organised by ex-Hereford striker Steve Guinan at Westfields' allpay-park last Sunday, which Hale says proves the level of support the new club has.

"We have got to send our business plan in, with security of tenure at Edgar Street and any supporting letters that will give the FA a better idea of the level of our support and hopefully that will include supporting evidence from the fans' games and the attendance last Sunday.

"In due course, we will be going to see the FA with season ticket sales, which hopefully will be many hundreds because that will be a very big statement from us as a football club that we will be very well supported at home and also away."

Hale said that season ticket prices could be published within 24 hours of the leases being signed.

"We are then hoping to have the old club shop open as an office and perhaps as a small shop so supporters can go to the ground and buy their tickets and engage with the stadium again."

Malvern Town, who hosted a successful fans' game involving Hereford supporters last summer, have already indicated that they are happy to play against Hereford FC in a pre-season friendly.

"There was a successful fans game at Langland Stadium and discussions at the time said that if there ever was an opportunity to go back and have a friendly once we were up and running," said Hale.

"That has been agreed, although a date hasn't been set yet.

"There have been plenty of clubs offering to host friendlies and play against us.

"We are not any further forward in announcing any of those, but there would be something we can do as soon as we can."

The FA should confirm that league Hereford FC will play in May, once relegations and promotions have been determined.
