JON Taylor says he would be interested in managing Hereford FC.

The former Hereford United boss believes he has unfinished business after United were wound up in the High Court in December.

“No one has contacted me about it but I would certainly be interested to find out more,” said Taylor.

“I felt we could probably have finished in the top eight in the league this season and established ourselves in the second season.

“I was bitterly disappointed with the way things turned out and I would be happy to finished what I started.”

Taylor said he was bought in by previous United owners Tommy Agombar and Andy Lonsdale and in hindsight should have backed Hereford United Supporters Trust (HUST) from the offset.

“I was always loyal to the football club and was not interested in the owners,” said Taylor, who added he has been offered a manager’s job at a Conference North club.

“I would be very interested and keen to speak to Jon Hale and HUST."

Applicants have until 5pm today to apply for the position. Hereford FC club secretary Martin Watson says a number of applications have already been received, some from managers who have worked at a higher level that the one the new club will start from.

“The final choice is already going to be a difficult one and I understand there are a number of additional names who will be submitting their details shortly,” said Watson.

Former Bulls star Gareth Davies has offered his help in going through the applicants. Pete Beadle, who miraculously led the Bulls to safety last season, only to see the club thrown out of the Conference just weeks later due to mounting debts, seems to be the fans’ choice according to a Hereford Times poll. Beadle scooped 49% of over 1,000 votes cast, ahead of Westfields manager Sean Edwards (17%) and United in the Community coach Rob Purdie (16%).
