IT started with St Neots and ended at Dunstable.

During the past four months, Hereford United played on a par with teams that left supporters scratching their heads.

Only 528 people watched the Bulls' first game in the Southern League Premier Division on August 9, with gates soon reaching as low as 254.

A total of 43 players starred for Jon Taylor's team, with only 13 accumulating 10 or more appearances in all competitions.

The season's highs included smashing four past Arlesey and Dorchester in consecutive games last month, but the campaign also featured many lows.

United were knocked out of the FA Cup in the second qualifying round by minnows Elllistown & Ibstock after leading 2-0, while Cinderford eliminated them from the Red Insure Cup at the preliminary stage.

A 5-2 home defeat by Burnham and a 6-0 drubbing at Truro in the league were two other embarrassing defeats.

The Bulls finished 14th in the league with 30 points from 25 games – 15 points off the play-offs.

But their liquidation will now see their results expunged, causing chaos to the division's table.

St Neots, who are two points from the top, will lose six points they have accumulated against United, compared to Poole, who will juts lose one.

And at the bottom, Burhham's 5-2 win will be wiped out, whereas bottom club Banbury will not lose any points.
