Brockhampton School, from Herefordshire, clinch double in Bromyard’s junior tag rugby tournament

FIVE schools took part in Bromyard’s first junior under-eight tag rugby tournament, run in conjunction with Brockhampton School.

As well as the joint organisers, Ashperton, Burghill, Clifton-upon-Teme and Marden entered teams at under-seven and undereight level with around 50 boys and girls taking part.

“As Bromyard RFC coaches we are happy with the immediate effect this has had on our junior section numbers at the club,” said junior coach Dan Stretton.

“It is always heart-warming for us to see new faces and kids enjoying themselves on the sport field.

“As a club we would like to thank Brockhampton School, in particular, for their support but also all the other teams who took part.

“Without the support from teachers, parents and volunteers, events such as these won’t take place.”

Brockhampton enjoyed a particularly successful afternoon by winning both the under-seven and under-reight competitions.
