LUCTONIANS have been urged to take their chances as they look to avoid a fourth straight defeat at Macclesfield.

The Kingsland side head to Cheshire deep in a relegation fight, but could draw their hosts into the fight with a victory.

"We have been looking at Macclesfield and I know they will give us chances and they make mistakes in games," said Luctonians head coach Ryan Watkins.

"They have come down to our league and people expected them to do a lot better. They do make a lot of chances and we need to make sure we put the points on the board."

Last weekend Luctonians suffered a 26-20 defeat at the hands of South Leicester and only a late Louis Silver penalty rescued a losing bonus point.

The Lucs' scrum half had opened the scoring before full-back Josh Watkins and flaker Sebastian Robin put Watkins' side into a commanding 17-12 lead with 42 minutes gone.

However, the visitors failed to take their chances and South Leicester came from behind to take victory.

"It's frustrating as we have missed another opportunity and although we were not far away unfortunately we were second again," added Watkins following the defeat.

"We did get a losing point but we seem to have a high amount of those in the league which is a bit frustrating. We have just got to get used to getting the lead and keeping it.

"We did take the lead and I thought when they got a yellow card it was our opportunity to stretch our lead. They defended well and we didn't extend our lead which gave them a lift when they returned to a full side and they scored pretty much straight away.
