LUCTONIANS will be looking to put in another good performance when they take on Huddersfield at Mortimer Park this Saturday.

The Kingsland outfit finally ended a run of 11 straight defeats when they beat Chester 20-5 in their last home game.

And head coach Ryan Watkins says it's important that his team try and build some momentum.

"Huddersfield beat us away and are going quite well so it will be a really good test for us," said Watkins.

"However, if we perform like we did against Chester, then I'm confident we can pick up a win.

"The belief is starting to come back because we finally got the monkey off our back.

"It's important that we compete for every ball and work our socks off when we're chasing kicks.

"And if we do that, then I'm more than confident we can get a positive result."

Lucs were due to make the long trip up north to face Blaydon last Saturday, but the game was called off on the Friday due to a waterlogged pitch.

"We still trained on the Saturday and the firsts and seconds all got together because their game was off as well," added Watkins.

"It was a bit disappointing that the game was called off, but we had a really good session and the team feel that we can do it again."

Following this Saturday's game, Lucs go to Leicester Lions before they face Sedgley Park at home.
