LUCTONIANS director of rugby Alex Davidson wants his charges to kick on and gain some more victories after bouncing back from a mini slump to beat Preston Grasshoppers 20-12 in National League 2 North.

The Kingsland side went into the game on the back of three defeats, including a 32-31 reverse against Chester having led 31-10.

"We were nervous, especially because of the manner of how we lost to Chester, and it was certainly not a classic," said Davidson.

"For long periods of the game, we got into their 22 but didn't have the confidence to convert the pressure with tries.

"The result was never in doubt, but we should have won by more."

This Saturday, Luctonians travel to Otley, who are one place below them in the league table.

"We've put in some good performances against them in the last few seasons and we're confident we can go there and win," added Davidson.

Frank Kelly will miss out after sustaining a shoulder injury against Preston, but number eight Owen Davies has been training with the club and Dan Smith and Josh Watkins should be back.

Meanwhile, a brace of tries from Matt Hallett and Cameron Hunter helped Ledbury beat Woodrush 32-22 to climb up to fourth place in Midlands 3 West (South).

Dave Bromage also scored a try for Ledbury, with George Bennion kicking over two conversions and Ali Park a penalty.

Bromyard maintained their 100 per cent start in Midlands 4 West (South) thanks to a 27-19 win over Harbury.

Early tries from Tom Morris and Will Teece put Bromyard in command, only to see a strong Harbury side respond to draw level at 12-12.

Down to 14 men early in the second half, the Bromyard defence leaked again to gift Harbury a deserved lead.

But, the home side dug deep and a Toby Rivers penalty brought them within striking distance.

A Matt Booton try then put Bromyard in front and the win was sealed when John Parker went over.

Greyhound went down 29-22 to Aldridge in Midlands 5 West (North), while Ross-on-Wye comfortably beat Minchinhampton 42-0 in Gloucester 2.

Marcus Barnhard opened the scoring with a try, which Aaron Ryder converted.

Thai Hayward then was on the hand to add another try; Ryder again converting before Ross had Gavin Oates and Casey Morgan sinbinned.

But when they returned, hooker Josh Element was sent off for an alleged stamp.

Any hopes Mnchinhampton would get back in the game were evaporated when Barnhard grabbed his second try of the afternoon, converted by Ryder.

Further tries then came through Dan Field, Hayward and Luke Ward, with Ryder adding the conversions.
