LUCTONIANS came unstuck against a strong Sale side in National League Two North despite opening up a 13-point lead.
Tries from James Conville, Jack Moorhouse, Tom Ailes and Matthew Postlethwaite ensured Sale's 31-18 victory, although Lucs remain sixth in the division.
Sale struck first in the match through debutant Conville before Lucs hit back thanks to a Louis Silver penalty.
Silver then kicked over another penalty to take his side into the break 10-5 ahead.
Silver extended his side's lead with another three-pointer before Jordan Street powered his way over for a try.
But Sale hit back with 26 unanswered points to win the match.
Ailes forced his way over from the back of a line out before he released Moorhouse to cross over.
Ailes grabbed his second try on 77 minutes, with Moorhouse sealing the win.
