HEREFORD rugby player Josh McNally has been named in the Green King IPA Championship Dream XV.

McNally a second row forward for London Welsh ans scored four tries in 18 appearances to help his club finish fifth.

His performances were recognised by him being named London Welsh Supporters Club Player of the Season.

In addition, the powerful and athletic forward also played a key part in the Exiles' British and Irish Cup success, featuring in seven of Welsh's cup matches including starting the final against Yorkshire Carnegie at Headingley.

McNally also showed his liking for a try by popping up with a crucial score in Welsh's extraordinary pool stage comeback victory against Cardiff Blues Premiership Select.

"It's a huge honour to be recognised and for the coaches of the other Championship clubs to deem me good enough to be part of the Dream VX is fantastic,” said McNally, who went to Aylestone High School.

"I've been playing a lot and to the best of my ability, but I never envisaged that I'd been noticed enough to feature in the Championship XV.

"I learnt a lot in my first year at London Welsh in the Premiership, but I've played a lot more games this year and I feel I got stronger and stronger as the season went on.

"I grasped the opportunity the coaches gave me and gained a huge amount of experience.”
