LUCTONIANS will be hoping to bounce back at home to Sandal this Saturday after losing to rivals Stourbridge 26-22 in National league 2 North.

The Kingsland side are safe from relegation and could still finish as high as sixth if results go their way.

More than 800 fans flocked to Mortimer Park to watch the Stourbridge game and were treated to an entertaining game.

Lucs took an early lead through Michael Cheasley before Tatenda Mukarati went over for Stourbridge.

The away side then led at half-time after Rodney Petty converted Joseph Carpenter's try.

Stourbridge extended their lead after the break thanks to tries from Ashley Elvers and Joseph Heatley; with a Josh Watkins try for Lucs sandwich in between.

Chealsey and Adam Sturdy were then sent to the sin bin for the home side following a "mass melee", but this seemed to spur them on.

Captain Dan Smith crashed through under the posts, but then missed his own drop goal attempt.

After Sandal, Lucs finish their season with another home game on May 7 when they host Sale.
