FLYING winger Josh Watkins says he is relishing his time at Luctonians after hooking up with the club.

Watkins joined the club last month having previously starred for Worcester Warriors and England 7s.

"It's just good to get some 15s' game time, which I'm relishing at the minute," said Watkins.

"When I was a younger lad at Worcester, I joined a National 2 side on loan, so I'm used to how it all works and I really enjoy it.

"I left school and I was at Worcester for three years and joined England 7s this season.

"But I wasn't being picked, so they let me go and get some 15s' game time, which is really helping me.

"I played the first two tournaments for England and really enjoyed that.

"But it's quite hard to get into the squad, being a new lad and it being a new game for me.

"I'm just looking to kick on now and for 15s when I go back next season.

"I haven't really got anything planned at the minute, I'm just enjoying playing my rugby until the end of the season here we'll see what happens from there."

Watkins starred in a 17-15 win over Tynedale on Saturday.

"They were probably the best team we have played, in terms of structure, with all the mobile forwards they had, since I have been here," said Watkins.

"Normally, when teams in this league come off a long bus journey, you're a bit heavy in the legs and it takes a while to get that out of the system.

"But they seemed to start quite well and put us on the back foot.

"We did well to keep the score down and we went down to 14 men.

"We fought until the end, which is the Luctonians' fighting spirit, and we will look to build on that."
