LUCTONIANS won again on Saturday – this time overcoming strugglers Broadstreet.

The Kingsland side are one of the form teams in National 2 North and have now won an astonishing 10 of their last 13 games.

Josh Watkins was again key to Lucs' latest success by scoring a hat-trick of tries, with the victory leaving his side five points above the drop zone.

But Luctonians can pull further clear of danger this Saturday when they travel to bottom club Huddersfield.

Both Luctonians and Broadstreet struggled to gain any advantage throughout the game, with the lead changing hands several times.

Broadstreet opened the scoring after 10 minutes thanks to a Lee Chapman penalty before Louis Silver added two three-pointers for Lucs.

Watkins then went over for his first try, which Silver converted, to put the home side 13-3 up.

Chapman then kicked over another penalty on the stroke of half-time before he added another one after the break to reduce the deficit to four points.

But another Watkins try and a Silver penalty extended the home side's advantage to 21-9.

However, Broadstreet threatened to make a real game of it after John Kelly was sent to the sin bin for Lucs.

Chapman converted Chris Idehen's try to reduce the deficit to 21-16 before the away side took the lead after Aaron Martin went over; Chapman again converting.

But Watkins had the final word when he again showed his pace to score with four minutes to go.
