LUCTONIANS second-rower John Kelly says his team have to go to Huddersfield with the right attitude this Saturday if they are to gain another win.

The Kingsland side are third-from-bottom in the National League 2 North table, while their Yorkshire opponents are bottom.

Luctonians go into the game in buoyant mood having claimed a vital win against Leicester Lions last weekend.

"We've got to go there with the right attitude and not think that they're bottom," said Kelly.

"We then should be able to put a win down if everything goes right.

"But, if we lose, it will be two steps back."

A Jimmy Norris try in the 63rd minute sealed the 11-10 win for Lucs against Leicester Lions at a muddy Mortimer Park.

"Jimmy's just come back from injury, but he was man-of-the-match, which is good for him," said Kelly.

"He's starting to get things right again and now has more speed and aggression."

Kelly felt Lucs definitely deserved the win.

"Leicester Lions always have a big scrum and maul, but apart from that, they were pretty average and their kicking was poor," said Kelly.

"Special mention must go to our tight-head prop Joe [White], who played very well."

Luctonians captain Dan Smith added that it was a must-win game.

"It was massive we got the win and gives us something to build on," said Smith.

"We've just to keep plugging away , because anyone can beat anyone in the league."

Louis Silver put Lucs 6-0 up at half-time with two penalties before the away side were awarded a penalty try eight minutes into the second half.

Jonathan Williams added the extras to put Leicester Lions ahead.

Moments later, Leicester again pinned Luctonians back and Williams added a penalty.

But Lucs fly-half Alex James spotted a gap behind Lions' defence and placed a perfectely-weighted pass to Norris, who slid in at the corner.
