LEDBURY hammered Shipston-on-Stour 53-0 in their first game of 2016 to go top of the Midlands 3 West (South) division on points difference.

Matt Hallett carried on his excellent form by grabbing Ledbury's first try of the day before Dave Bromage converted Arron Almond's touchdown to put the home side 12-0 to the good. Ledbury's forwards were excellent, allowing the backs plenty of time and space.

Bromage had another assist when he sent Scott Matthews to score another try, converted by Bromage.

Almond then scored his second try, again converted by Bromage, before Ali Park touched down to make it 31-0 at half-time.

Second half scores were scored by Stu Martin, Park and Chris Stokes, with Bromage adding the extras.

Greyhound went down 25-14 to St Leonards in Midlands 5 West (North).

The Hereford side only travelled with 15 players due to work commitments, but put on a determined display.

Hooker Cody Foster opened the scoring with a try, converted by Mikey Weaver.

St Leonards levelled, but Greyhound went back in front with a try from Ali Paton; Weaver again converting.

But two tries and a penalty from the home side after the break opened up a significant advantage.

Greyhound played with 13 men at one stage due to injuries sustained and St Leonards sealed the win with another try.

Bromyard's Midlands 4 West (North) game against Telford Hornets and Ross-on-Wye's encounter against Cotham Park in Gloucester 2 were postponed.
