ROSS captain Casey Morgan felt Ashley Down scrum-half Luke Plummer was the difference between the two sides after the Herefordshire side lost a key Gloucester 2 encounter 13-0.

"He's a good player, he's come down from a few leagues above and we couldn't do too much about it, he controlled the game," said Morgan.

"Our pack played well and we could have had a few tries in the first half, but we fluffed them.

"If we had scored one try in the first half, I think we would have come out winning.

"But fair play to them, they came out and run the ball."

Morgan conceded it was a missed opportunity to beat one of their promotion rivals.

"I think if we had won that, we would be nearly top at Christmas, which is a shame, but the season isn't over yet," he said.

"We've been in this league for four years now and we've got the players to go up, we just need to get right.

"We are getting better slowly though.

"It is a tough league to get out of because you don't know which Bristol team you're going to be playing, but fair play to them, they beat us and ran us off the park."
