A HAT-TRICK of tries from Matt Hallett helped Ledbury to a dramatic 27-26 win at Cheltenham North that maintains their 100 per start start in Midlands 3 West (South).

Hallett's last try, converted by George Bennion, ensured Ledbury secured the victory after it looked like they were heading for their first defeat.

The winger opened his account when he gathered the ball to touch down, with Bennion adding the extras.

Ledbury extended their lead through a Bennion penalty after a Cheltenham player had been sent off for a headbutt.

Aaron Almond was also later yellow carded for Ledbury and it was the home side who took command and take a 16-10 half-time lead.

But Ledbury stormed back in to the game after the break and went back in front through another Hallett try, with Bennion again converting.

North then scored a converted try before both teams kicked over penalties to make it 26-20 to the home side with 10 minutes to go.

But it was Ledbury who won the match thanks to a dramatic try by Hallett, which Bennion kicked over.

Bromyard earned a losing bonus point at Yardley & District, with Tom Gallagher, Jamie Gibbons and Alex Parker grabbing tries in a 27-20 defeat.

Greyhound's perfect start in Midlands 5 West (North) came to an abrupt end though as they were comfortably beaten 48-27 by Essington, but Ross-on-Wye beat Westbury-on-Severn 22-6 to go third in Gloucester 2.
