LEDBURY, Greyhound and Ross-on-Wye continue to do well in their respective divisions following excellent wins last Saturday.

Ledbury narrowly beat Southam 24-22 to ensure they have won their opening three games of the season in Midlands 3 West (South), while Greyhound stormed past Chaddesley Corbett 40-12 to go five points clear of Midlands 5 West (North).

Southam scored first against Ledbury to take an early 7-0 lead before Ledbury responded.

A well-rehearsed set play saw Dave Wargen find his man, with the ball then fizzed out to Aaron Almond, who burst through a few tackles.

Brad Williams was on hand to finish the move, with George Bennion kicking over the extra points.

More sloppy defending by Ledbury led Southam to add a second try before Steve Humphries dived over from close range.

But it was Southam who went into the break 19-12 ahead after adding another try.

Ledbury edged back into the game in the second half, with a well-executed lineout resulting in a Lewis Williams touchdown.

Man-of-the-match Pete Dixon was brilliant in his forward carrying, which led to James Cooke going over the line.

Bennion kicked over the conversion, and despite Southam kicking over a penalty, Ledbury held on for the win.

Greyhound, meanwhile, raced into a 19-0 half-time lead against Chaddesley Corbett and always looked comfortable.

Matt Eden scored nine of those points thanks to a try and two conversions, with Ed Howarth and Elliot Phillips also going over the line.

Ali Paton then added two tries after the break, sandwiched in between Howarth grabbing his second; Eden adding the extras.

The visitors later added two tries, with one converted, but Greyhound were never threatened.

Ross gained another bonus point win that takes them up to second place in Gloucester 2.

Six tries were scored by the away side in a comfortable 40-5 win at Minchinhampton.

Centre Billy Hambling grabbed the first before the away side added two more tries.

First, Ben Element ran 50 yards before touching down before Casey Morgan did likewise.

Jordan Marshall then touched down to take Ross into half-time 26-0 ahead, with Chay Brine kicking over the extras.

Hambling then added another try after the break before the home side hit back with a try of their own.

But Ross had the last word when Marshall outpaced the home defence to score, with Craig Powell adding the conversion.

Bromyard earned a bonus point against Uttoxeter in Midlands 4 West (North) after losing 32-27.

Jamie Gibbons, Gareth Griffiths and Jordan Fulbrook all scored tries for Bromyard in the first half, with Ollie Barrett adding another after the break.

Bromyard were also awarded a penalty try, converted by Freddie Anthony, but it was Uttoxeter who ran out winners.
