BROMYARD are set to host a four-way mini tournament under lights at the end of the year.

Chairman Stephen Tomkins confirmed that Greyhound, Clee Hill and Tenbury have already said they are interested to take part in the showpiece, with a date yet to be set.

The tournament will be sponsored by Nick Champion, from Tenbury, with a cup being presented to the winner.

"It will be a league with everybody playing everybody," said Tomkins.

"Several of the teams have said it is nice to get back to midweek games because there's not many clubs doing it these days.

"The teams are all fairly local, which is good.

"The dates have yet to be confirmed, but hopefully it will be before Christmas and will be probably be on a Tuesday night."

Tomkins added that there are plans to develop the Sir Clive Richards Ground, but televisions may be brought in for the Rugby World Cup next year.

"We want to maintain what we've got and keep them going," said Tomkins.

"We have good facilities here for the youth and senior players.

"Providing we keep the momentum going, we should continue with two teams.

"Fish came off the bench for the first team on Saturday and he's come from the seconds.

"Because he was with the backs, he couldn't really show what he's got, but I have seen him in the seconds and he's a prospect.

"We want more people to come to training because we want more competition."
