Ross15 pts Bristol Aerospace 24

CLUB stalwart Brian Harris said Ross fought hard but couldn't shoot down Bristol Aerospace at Greytree.

Harris said the young Ross pack worked tirelesslywith locks Chris Thomas and Ben Chapman and skipper Gavin Oates leading the way.

But Ross were without five key players and they slipped to a disappointing defeat in South-West Division Gloucester Two.

Aerospace sailed into an early lead, touching down after poor Ross tackling, before adding a penalty.

Ross replied with a well taken try by winger Billy Hambling.

However, Aerospace increased their lead before Craig Powell kicked a penalty to keep Ross in touch at half time.

Aerospace dominated the first 15 minutes of the second half and extended their score to 21 points.

Ross eventually woke up and played some entertaining running rugby but the visitors' defence held firm.

Oates dived over in the corner after Powell fed quick-ball to Huw Bellamy. Bellamy's deft pass put the skipper over in the corner.

Powell's conversion cut the deficit to six points but Aerospace responded with a penalty to make the game safe.
