Hereford 47 pts Old Laurentians 19

HEREFORD coach Mark Harris gave a measured response as his team's excellent second-half display set up a conclusive win.

“I’m not getting carried away, but we are capable of beating any team in our league on our day," he said. "This was a good solid performance with an especially good second half with some excellent tries.

"We shall take some time out during the Christmas break to prepare for a good run-in to the season”.

An early exchange of penalties was followed by the first Hereford try from Matt Pritchard, which Dean Powell, who had kicked the Hereford penalty, converted.

Two Laurentians penalties cut arrears before Powell and the Laurentians' kicker were again successful.

As half-time approached, the game came to life with two tries from Josh Bell and Tom Ewins, one of which was converted by Powell.

A superb individual try by Ewins extended the lead after the break but Laurentians refused to lie down and a converted try kept them in contention.

Hereford dominated the remainder of the game, however, with Leon Yeboah-Parsons and Jamie Bullock crossing for tries - Powell converted Bullock's try - before Ewins rounded off a man-of-the-match performance with his hat-trick score.
