Pegasus Juniors 2 Dudley Sports 1.

TWO penalties by Paul Allam - one two minutes from time - ensured that Pegasus came away with the spoils and in doing so lifted themselves to second place in the West Midlands League Premier Division.

Adie Morgan’s side struggled to break down a resolute Dudley Sports team and were up against it when Jack Lewis was sent off in the 37th minute for picking up his second booking of the game.

And their task was made even harder when Dudley went in front in the 61st minute.

Dane Hughes’ cross was met by the head of Craig Tibbetts who got the faintest of touches to deflect it past Mikel Corbisier in the Pegasus goal.

But Juniors hit back in fine style three minutes later when they were awarded a penalty after Sports goalkeeper Sam Pearson brought down Cory Hyde. Allam stepped up to convert the kick.

Pegasus continued to take the game to the opposition and came close to going in front when first Keith Jones saw his shot saved by Pearson’s legs and then Chris Mortlock had his effort saved.

The winner did arrived two minutes from time when Allam scored another penalty after Jamie Cuthbertson was brought down.
