Pegasus Juniors 3 Sporting Khalsa 0
A DOMINANT firsthalf performance set Pegasus back on the winning trail and moved the city side a little further away from the West Midlands League Premier Division drop zone.
The game produced a contrast in styles with Juniors playing the ball along the ground while Khalsa favoured the long ball over the the top of the home defence.
Pegasus made the break through in the 28th minute when Jason Prosser won the ball to send Will Loughman away on the flank.
Loughman's cross evaded Prosser but Jimmy Moreton was able to return the ball to the centre where Scott Roberts headed in his first goal of the season.
Four minutes later, Khalsa's defence was caught out by a long clearance from Mark Davies and Prosser beat the offside trap to round goalkeeper Adam Lane and score.
Six minutes further on, a neat move involving skipper Paul Allam, Matt Croose and man-of-the match Ashley Weston allowed Prosser to release Loughman who raced through to beat Lane.
Moreton caused the visiting defence plenty of problems in the second period but Khalsa should have reduced arrears when they were awarded a penalty after Davies fouled Ishal Reed.
Nicholas Campbell blazed the spot-kick high over the bar to leave Juniors comfortable winners.
