PEGASUS Juniors manager James Edmonds felt his team were unfortunate to lose against Westfields in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round.

Edmonds, who took over from former Peggy boss Chris Hyde at the start of the season, was particularly pleased with his side's second half performance.

"I thought we were very unlucky not to get anything from the game, especially after our second half performance," said Edmonds.

"The stats tell us that we had more possession in the second half and I think we put in a very good performance and it is very encouraging for the season ahead.

"But good luck to Westfields for the rest of the season in the tournament and the league.

"I think we needed a little bit of luck in the final third, it just didn't break for us but we'll get there and it's early doors.

"When we played three at the back, we left ourselves more open and they had a few chances, but before that, they had two chances and we had two chances which obviously one was the goal."

Edmonds felt there was a handball leading up to the winning goal.

"It was a bit disappointing because it was handball, but never mind, we move on," he said.

"In the build-up to the goal, the guy hand-balled it and the linesman said it was handball, but we didn't get the run of the ball and unfortunately you just have to live with that and move on.

"We've got a young team but we'll be alright this year and will do well, especially with the football that we like to play.

"We play some good stuff at times."
