Pegasus Juniors 2 Shawbury United 2

PEGASUS gained a hard-earned draw after an entertaining West Midlands League Premier Division clash.

Shawbury missed an early chance to take the lead before Sam Pearson went close twice, first with a shot which was deflected behind and then with a header from a corner which flew narrowly over.

Shawbury took the lead in somewhat controversial circumstances.

Pegasus appeared to be denied a clear penalty when Danny Hill Was brought down in the area but, with play allowed to continue, Shawbury broke away and Tom Rogers guided a cross from Steve Hole past keeper Nathan Phillips.

After the break, Kiea Cowley guided a Anthony Robbins free-kick against the bar before Shawbury responded with a shot from Rogers which came out from the inside of a post.

Pegasus began to dominate and their efforts paid off when goalkeeper Graeme Hampton dropped a cross from Hill and Tom Dawson forced the ball home.

Parity was short-lived, however, as Jordy Kennedy tapped in a Kevin Renshaw cross to restore the visitors' lead.

Pegasus were quickly back on level terms once more, however, when fortune was on their side.

Cowley was judged to have been pushed and Robbins scored from the spot.

Both sides had late chances with a a Keith Jones shot cleared off the line and Phillips turning a Hole shot on to the bar.
