Luctonians take pride of place on high-scoring day for Herefordshire clubs

HEREFORDSHIRE’S rugby clubs were generally in high-scoring form on a successful Saturday with pride of place going to Luctonians who remain in the top three in National Two North after a 43-18 home win over Otley.
In Midlands One West, there was plenty of joy on Wyeside, too, with a scoreline of Walsall 10 Hereford 51 meaning a good day for the city club.
The other part of the city did even better with Greyhound enjoying a 60-0 success over Rugby Welsh.
Bromyard were the only blip on the day’s winning list with a 36-15 defeat in their Midlands Four West North local derby at Tenbury.
But it was a good day for Ross who beat Bristol Aeroplane Co 21-17 in Gloucester 2.
Jamie Cuss and Richard Kear were on target for Westfields but the city side could only manage a 2-2 home draw with Rocester.
It was a better day for Pegasus Juniors with a double strike for Paul Allam as they beat Dudley United 2-1 to go second in the West Midlands League Premier Division.
Bromyard have also perked up and continued their recent improved form by winning 2-1 at Bartley Green.
No joy for Leominster Town, though, who were beaten 4-0 at Warstone Wanderers in Division One.
There was a county clean sweep, however, in Division Two where Bartestree beat Team Dudley 4-1, Ledbury Town beat Malvern Rangers 5-0 and Lads Club beat Riverway 3-0.
