Hereford and County athletes star in Nottingham

NINE Hereford & County AC athletes travelled to Nottingham for the third meeting of the Midland Track and Field League Division Seven and enjoyed a clutch of podium finishes.

Josh Day recorded victories in the shot, discus and hammer and came fourth ‘B’ in the javelin.

Ruth Wells won the shot, discus, javelin and was first ‘B’ in the hammer. Hannah Barnes conquered with the hammer and ‘B’ discus and finished second ‘B’ in the shot.

Anne La Frenais won the 100 metres and won the ‘B’ javelin.

Sarah Jones won the pole vault, tied first in the high jump and came second and third in the triple and long jump respectively.

Cian Lynch finished first and second in the triple and long jumps and completed the 100m to finish third.

Bruce Khumalo was first ‘B’ in the long jump and triple jump, while coming second ‘B’ in the 100m. He came fifth in the 200m.

Jon Barnes was third in the 1,500m and fourth in the pole vault, javelin and ‘B’ shot.

Kevin Barnes ended third in the 2,000m steeplechase, fourth in the 5,000m and fifth in the 400m. He was also fourth ‘B’ in the 1,500m and third ‘B’ in the hammer.

Kevin, Jon, Cian and Bruce ran the 4x100m relay into fourth place.
