Hereford and County athletes excel at Aberdare

HEREFORD and County Athletes travelled to Aberdare for their first outing in the Welsh Under-15 league.

The scheduled first match had been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

It was a warm and sunny but windy day and there were many good performances, with many of the athletes setting personal bests during the day.

Winners were Ella Morgan, Cara Bennett, Alisha Jenkins, Jess Williams, Oscar Hewitt and Connor Tracey.

The 4x100-metre relays provided a thrilling end to the day with the Under-13 boys coming third and the Under-15 girls a close second.

The next match is at Newport on June 23.
