Travis drummer Nick Primrose drives to success with Hereford team Saxon Motorsport

HEREFORD’S Saxon Motorsport have been in winning form at the infamous Nurburgring.

Driven by Saxon owner Nick Barrow and Neil Primrose, drummer with the rock band Travis, the team’s BMW came home first in the Diesel category of the VLN Championship.

Track conditions varying from dry to running with water made things difficult while fog reduced visibility and cut the race short to three hours from the scheduled four.

The car was developed during 2011 and, as a diesel, was quite a departure for Saxon Motorsport but chief engineer Jon Taylor, also from Hereford, has managed to turn it into an extremely powerful, 400 BHP, and agile racing car.
