IAN Rivers continued his fine form of last season when Hereford Wheelers held their first Time Trial of 2010 on a new course starting on the Roman Road at Stretton Sugwas.
Rivers was a convincing winner in a time of 46min 20secs at an average speed of just over 24mph. In second place was Jon Tetley in a time of 48min 56sec and third was Alex Haines in 49min53sec.
The first woman home was Sarah Lloyd-Stephens in a time of 58min 33sec. Second was Janet Harris in 62min5 4sec and third was Debbie Clark in 67min 10sec.
Two other Wheelers recorded promising times in their first-ever races with Nigel Davies recording 59min51sec and 16-year-old Joe Waring recording 60min07sec.
