HEREFORD Triathlon Club’s Nicola Goodwin rounded off her season by winning the female section of the Newent Triathlon.
Goodwin, 34, finished the 400-metre swim, 12-mile bike and three-mile run in a time of 1:02:36.
She was the first woman home and finished in 27th place overall, knocking more than a minute off her previous best time for the event.
Goodwin also won the race in 2006 and finished second last year.
There were also good performances from Hereford’s Andy Mogg (1:27:00) and his wife Marion Mogg (1:38:11).
Colin Kerfoot from Hereford Triathlon Club continued his progression up the ranks by finishing the New Forest Middle Distance Triathlon in 45th place. The race attracted some of the world’s best triathletes and Kerfoot finished the 1,900-metre swim, 56-mile bike and 13-mile run in 5:28:29.
He was 12th in his age category.
