HEREFORDSHIRE representatives in the Paralympics are gearing themselves up for the biggest event in their sporting lives which gets underway on Saturday.
Wheelchair rugby player Josie Pearson’s campaign gets underway on Friday, September 12 with a Pool B clash against New Zealand followed by clashes on the two succeeding days against Germany and Australia.
James Bevis is involved in the shooting competition from September 7-12 while Paralympic champion swimmers Nyree Lewis and Sascha Kindred will be competing from September 7-15.
The GB Blind Football team, based at Hereford’s RNC, begin their quest for Paralympic gold also on Sunday when they play China and five more group games will follow in the succeeding eight days.
