HEREFORDSHIRE’S disabled shooting star, James Bevis, won silver and bronze medals in his last international competition before the Beijing Paralympics.
Bevis, who lives in Fawley near Ross-on-Wye, picked up the brace of medals at the Slovakian Open Disabled Shooting Tournament.
Bevis is among Britain’s four-strong Paralympic Games shooting squad and the team used the Slovakian event, in Vistuk Slovakia, as preparation.
Bevis took his silver in the R5 10m air rifle prone SH2 with a qualification score of 592 and a final score of 103.6.
He followed it up with a bronze medal in the R4 10m air rifle standing SH2 with a qualification score of 581 and a final score of 589.
Britain enjoyed a successful competition and returned home with a total of two gold, four silver and two bronze medals.
