A TEAM with two England national players clinched the Herefordshire Ladies’ Rounders League title for the seventh successive year.

The Locals finished top of the league by an emphatic 77 points and booked a place with second-placed All Out in the play-off final.

The Locals ran out worthy winners, 15½-5, after a 40-minute battle against All Out and were presented with the trophy by former league organiser Pam James-Moore.

The Marks & Spencer Shield for the fifth-placed team was won by Marks & Spencer.

The Locals team consisted of two England rounders players, Harriet Major (under-17 captain) and Olivia Major (under-14).

The Major sisters were part of the England side which beat opposition from the UK and the Isle of Man at the Scottish international tournament.

Both would like to thank Herefordshire sports charity, Ready Steady Win for their continued financial support.

The league organiser, Sharon Major, wants to thank all those teams who competed this summer and is already looking ahead to the 2009 season.

Anyone interested in fielding a team in the league next year should contact Sharon Major on 01432 850831 or 07770 403949.
