KINGSTONE Rovers are two wins away from sealing the Herefordshire County League Division One, but face their title challengers in both matches.

Chris James' side have won 15 of their 18 games so far this season but will be watching the results of Hinton Reserves and Holme Lacy Reserves closely as both sides have similar records but a host of games to catch up.

While the rest of their rivals were again hampered by the weather James' side ran out 12-2 winners at Fownhope Reserves with Joseph Johnson netting four goals while Dean Avery and Marc Avery netted a hat-trick each and Darren Jones the other.

While Kingstone Rovers have two league games remaining Hinton Reserves have seven to play, Holme Lacy Reserves eight to play while second place Woofferton are 13 points behind with three games in hand.

"I'm feeling confident as we have got the points in the bag while the others are playing catch up," said James.

"But our last two fixtures are Holme Lace Reserves away and Hinton Reserves at home so it's all to play for. We had aimed to go the season unbeaten but lost to Ludlow Town Colts away on their artificial pitch which the lads weren't used too."

Kingstone Rovers are targetting the double with the HFA Junior Cup final against Division Two favourites Bartestree Reserves next Saturday (April 21) also in their sights.

In the only other Division One match to beat the weather on Saturday Ludlow Town Colts beat Wellington Colts 4-3 with Daniel Griffiths netting a brace.

Tenbury United continued their push to retain their Premier Division title by running out 2-0 victors over Ledbury Town in the only Premier Division match played.

Ledbury were punished for not finding the opener during the first period of play as young Joe Bullock had three good chances at the target before Tenbury responded with the opening goal courtesy of Lee Millichip.

As the hosts probed for an equaliser it was Tenbury substitute Ryan Morris who doubled their lead to seal victory.
