COURSE records were broken at recent Herefordshire cycling events.

Mark Corbett, of Worcester St Johns CC, won the Hereford Wheelers-organised 30-mile time trial on the Leominster to Ludlow course in 1:04.30.

Second was Luke Moseley of Climb on Bikes, who finished in 1:16.57, with Birmingham University CC's Ollie Hayward coming in third.

The women's race was won by Wheeler Katie Price in 1:16.57, ahead of club mate Sally Field who clocked 1:21.11.

The Pencombe Hill Climb, meanwhile, was won by Climb on Bikes rider Ceri Middleton who claimed a new course record in six minutes 32 seconds.

In second place was Rhys Phillips of NFTO in 6:44, with Andy Turner, also of NFTO, finishing third.

The women's race was won by Wheeler Christie Jones in 8:10, ahead of Janet Harris of Climb on Bikes and Wheeler Sarah Jones.

The first junior home was Wheeler Rory Evans in 8:04, with Owain Phillips (NFTO) and Will Truelove (Climb on Bikes) finishing second and third respectively.

Meanwhile, Hereford professional cyclist James Lowsley-Williams broke the course record by just one second at Capler.

The NFTO rider clocked 1:37, to beat the 2013 time of Hugh Wilson.

Josh Sandman (Climb on Bikes) won the Juvenile award, with Christie Jones being fastest lady.

The Veteran Trophy was jointly won by Ben Dale (Climb on Bikes) and Mark Thomas (Worcester Cycle Centre).
