MUCH Marcle racer Ben Davis has attracted some sponsorship from local road haulage company A.B.E. (Ledbury) Limited.

The 22-year-old, who is part of the charity initiative Racing for Heroes - the official partner to Help for Heroes - said: “I am still putting together the final details but I will soon be making my debut in a high-profile series and with that in mind I am delighted to welcome ABE on board.

“I have grown up seeing their friendly, distinctive vehicles buzzing around Herefordshire and I have to thank Andy Boyle for believing in me and Racing for Heroes.”

Davis began his career in short-circuit karts before making a name for himself in the MSA British Superkart Championship, alongside brother Toby.

In 2014, the future trainee solicitor made the switch to cars and has contested two rounds of the Michelin Clio Cup series.

He added: “I have just over a year before I start my solicitor training and I am using that time to develop my career as a racing driver. It is difficult to find the budget to compete but I am hopeful that other businesses will see the benefits of becoming a corporate partner, as ABE have, especially given the fantastic charity we are supporting.”

Andy Boyle, of ABE, said: “I am delighted to be involved in helping Ben with his ambition to extend his racing experience. ABE derives the majority of its business from Herefordshire and so this venture ticks several boxes for us.”
