HEREFORD Ladies 2nd continued their good start to the year with a 3-2 victory near neighbours Colwall & Malvern in West Club's Womens' League Severn Division 1.

It was a game that saw the home side dominate throughout with some great attacking play.

Lucy Debenham scored the opening goal for Hereford from a penalty corner before new player Ally Taft made it 2-0 before the break.

Soon into the second half Debenham scored her second of the game after some great work from Tia Taylor and Ellie Baxter.

Colwall & Malvern changed their formation as they searched for a way back into the game, scoring two quick goals from penalty corners, but Hereford’s defence stood firm to ensure a second win of the year.

Hereford's first team lost 2-1 at Swanage in Premier Division 2A, while Ross went down 2-0 at home to Gloucester 3rd in Severn Division 2.

Leominster picked up another three points as they ran out 5-0 winners against a lacklustre Bristol UWE side who continue to prop up the bottom of the Conference North table.

The visitors scored all five goals in the first half, opening the scoring inside the first 5 minutes through Harry Ellis. The Uni side couldn't cope with Leominster's forwards and the visitors were soon 2-0 up through Rob Goodman. Matt Duggan struck a sweet reverse stick shot in off the post to effectively put the game beyond doubt early on.

Goodman got his second of the game before turning provider to give Ben Smith his first goal for the firsts.

Elsewhere, Hereford 2nd lost 4-3 to Cirencester in the Marches 1, but Ross ran out 3-2 winners against Gloucester 3rd in the Marches 2.
