TWO Herefordshire GPs have been practising what they preach when it comes to taking exercise.

Liz Bullivant and Morgan Cadman-Davies, who both working in city practices, took part in an adventure race called the Cardiff Burn which includes a 10km road run, 3km kayak and 30km orienteering mountain biking course.

"It took us 4hours 43 minutes to complete and somehow we won the Women's Pairs event ," said Cadman-Davies.

"We have a shiny trophy to our name and bettered our performance of last year of second place."

The pair had entered the event after Cadman-Davies found it online.

"Having something to train for keeps us meeting up and gives a reason not to give up on training especially when it's dark, wet or miserable," she said.

"We both enjoy keeping fit and this event has a really good feel to it, with every team helping each other out in the orienteering stage of the event in the hills surrounding Llandaff and the Taff trail.

"It really is a challenge, and met with moments of exhaustion only to be remedied by emergency jelly babies and good humour from all involved.

"Liz and I can rest in the knowledge that we pushed ourselves - we will be entering it again."
