DAVE Dawe was celebrating when Hereford Fly Fishing Club held their first trip of the year to Ellerdine fishery in Shropshire.
Dawe caught four trout for a bag of 22lb 15oz, topped by a tremendous specimen of 12lb 11oz.
He received his award from fishery manager Paul Gregory.
Most members caught fish on a day which started with a hail storm followed by a mixture of storms, bright sunshine and wind.
Jason Furnival was second with 13lb 13oz.
Hereford Fly Fishing Club welcome new members who can fish their three lakes as well as taking part in club trips to many fisheries in the region.

Club meeting are held at the Three Counties Hotel on Belmont Road, Hereford on the second Monday of each month, normally at 7.30pm for 8pm, and visitors are welcome.
