WORLD Superbikes ace Chaz Davies had a great weekend after claiming a double win in Germany.

The Presteigne star dominated both races and has given himself a fighting chance of finishing second in the championship standings.

Davies had to fight back from the back of the third row on the grid during the second race, but despite light rain falling during the final laps, the Ducati ace held it together pip championship leader Jonathan Rea and register his third win in four races at Lausitzing.

"It's incredible, I knew the second race was going to be tighter, it was hard to come from the third row," said Davies.

"I made some good passes out there and had a lot of fun.

"It was a case of setting my own rhythm.

"We had a lot of fast sections but they were quicker than me in other sections and for that reason it was harder to get away.

"But I made some good passes and I got the job done."

It was the same story in the opening race, with Davies pipping Rea to the win.

Davies now has 311 points in the championship standings, 35 points behind second placed Tom Sykes.
