Worcester St Johns rider Mark Corbett wins Hereford Wheelers time trial

VISITING rider Mark Corbett of Worcester St Johns CC claimed victory in Hereford Wheelers’ final 25- mile race of the season in a good time of 58min 21secs.

Wheeler Alex Haines was second in 1:00:13 with team mate Luke Williams third in 1:00:26.

The women’s race was a Wheelers clean sweep with Sarah Lloyd Stephens taking first place in 1:05:32 from Emma Hadley, second in 1:13:28, and Debbie Clark third in 1:16:25.

Fifteen-year-old Henry Locke, riding his first 25- mile time trial, recorded an excellent time of 1:15:46.

The race was also the second leg of the Wheelers annual 25 mile handicap competition and the trophy was won by Guy Evans with an aggregate handicap time of 1:56:56.

Tonight (Thursday) sees the penultimate race in the 15-race series over 10 miles starting on the Lugg Bridge course at 6.30pm.
