FORMER Bulls supremo Graham Turner admitted that he might not be the right man to ask for advice ahead of United’s crucial relegation clash on Saturday.
“I got it wrong last time Hereford were in this position against Brighton so I’m not sure I should be the one giving advice,” said the Shrewsbury Town chief whose side gained automatic promotion to League One last weekend.
“But I have spoken to Richard O’Kelly several times since he’s been at Edgar Street and I’m sure he will know what to do.
“It was a great result at Crawley last Saturday and one which shocked the League Two world.
“Although from speaking to people at Hereford, I don’t think it was that much of a surprise to them as the results have not matched the performances recently.
“I just hope the momentum of that win will carry them through the game against Torquay.
“If Hereford can beat Crawley away from home like that then there is no reason why they cannot do the same to Torquay at home.
“The biggest drawback is that they will still have to wait for the result from Burton and Barnet have some momentum, too, after their win against Wimbledon last weekend.”
Turner acknowledged that there would be pressure on United’s opponents as well on Saturday.
“Torquay have been in the top four for a long time this season so they will be under pressure,” he said.
“But there is nothing like the pressure of being at the bottom of the table.
“The players have now got to show their character and mettle to get them away from trouble.”
