Verdict: 4/5: Hereford took advantage of a tired Kettering side and put the game out of sight within the opening 16 minutes. As often happens after such a frantic and dominant opening the game lacked urgency for the majority as Hereford rarely looked under threat.

Man of the match: Purdie 8- On what was the perfect farewell for the midfielder against a tried midfield and defence. He pushed forwards from the outset setting up several chances. His cross found Liburd whose effort was deflected off the line leading to the opening goal. A minute later the midfielder sent his looping header over the goalkeeper.

Got his farewell ovation in the 70th minute after being replaced by Pablo Haysham.

Puddy 8- Has had a quiet few weeks but was called into action on several occasions against a lively Kettering front line. Looking reassured he pulled his defence out of a few holes and couldn’t do much about the Kettering goal.

Oates 6- Was rarely put under pressure in the first half as Hereford dominated around the pitch. Must have picked up a knock as he was replaced at half-time for Jack Deaman.

Pring 7- A steady performance as he makes the position his own but still without a Bulls goal.

O'Shea 7- A game of two halves for the defensive pairing as they were put under threat in the second half after rarely looking threatened in the first.

His long throw created the fourth goal which eventually sealed the tie and could become a useful form of attack if Hereford can acquire his services next season.

Liburd 7- Another composed performance by the youngster giving Pete Beadle a selection headache when Ryan Green returns on Wednesday night.

Richards 7- Came close with an angled shot across the face of goal but lacked that spark that Bulls fans know he has.

Reffell 6- Had an okay half playing his part in the opening 16 minutes which won the game but was replaced at half-time.

McGrath 7- Still returning to fitness from injury and again caused problems with the back four leading to being dragged down for the penalty

Myrie-Willams 6- Played through to McGrath who was taken down for the third game and looked lively but not one of his best games. On the rare occasion he did break the defensive line he was unceremoniously taken to the floor leading to a yellow card for the Kettering defender.

Smith 7-After his recent goal scoring spell a tired back four could have been exploited more by the marksman. Finished his penalty well and caused a few issues chasing lost causes but not as effective as previous weeks.

Had a glorious chance to make it five blazing over from close range luckily it didn’t matter.

Subs: Symons 6- With the game already won when he came on he failed to really make his mark.

Haysham 6- Came on in the 70th minute with the game already won.

Deaman 6- Immediately after coming into the back four Bulls conceded after rarely being threatened in the first half.

Improved as the half went on and had to withstand a spell of pressure at 3-1.

Unused subs: Mills, Horsell
