Kia Ballantyne
A COUNTY gymnast is jumping for joy after winning a title at the Welsh Trampolining Schools Championship in Cardiff.
Kia Ballantyne, from Ross-on-Wye, was in outstanding form as she topped the under-19 intermediate girls’ section at the Sport Wales National Centre.
The 16-year-old Monmouth School for Girls pupil saw off strong competition from 23 other gymnasts and has qualified for the zonal round at the end of January.
Kia, who is a member of Aspire Springers Trampolining Club in Gloucester, is hoping to book her place in the Welsh squad for the home internationals in Northern Ireland later this year.
