RETURNING winger Josh Watkins says he wants to help his brother move Luctonians up the National League 2 North table.

Watkins is back at Mortimer Park having had two previous spells with the club.

And with his brother Ryan now head coach of Luctonians, it is a family affair for the Watkins'.

"It's been a step up for him this season, "said Watkins.

"Results went our way at the start of the season, but they've obviously dropped off the last few weeks.

"I'm sure we want to amend that and that is why I'm here to help.

"I want to move up the table with him and I'm sure everyone else here does as well."

Watkins added that to achieve that, Luctonians need a number of players to step up to the plate.

"There are a lot of good individuals, but we need to start bringing that as a team," he said.

"The results will come, but we're relying on individuals at the minute and that's not the way.

"The Luctonians way is that it's always a team effort."

Watkins marked his return with a try last Saturday, but was on the losing side as Luctonians dramatically lost 28-25 to South Leicester.

"I had a short loan last year and I was here the year before," explained Watkins.

"But I'm here now for the rest of the season and hopefully for the foreseeable future.

"I was a little bit rusty, but I was happy to come off unscathed.

"I'm happy to score, but I'd rather pick up five points and moving up the table.

"But with performances like that, I don't think we will be in any relegation battle.

"There's now a week off, so hopefully we can come into training, work on the things that we did wrong and bring that into the next game.

"And I'm sure we'll start picking up results."

Lucs' next game is at Hinckley on November 25.
