RISING junior member Will Skyrme came out on top to win the Kington Open.
The 13-year-old had a 36-hole score of 131 to win by one shot off a 16 handicap, with fellow Kington players Doug Taylor (132) and Tom Ammonds (133) completing the top three places.
The event saw a good turnout, with competitors representing eight clubs from across the UK.
There was some great golf played, with Doug Taylor shooting a gross 72 in the morning round to claim the Madigan Cup.
The best gross morning round came from Ian Russell of Harborne Golf Club, while the best best nett prize was awarded to Garry Moore with a nett 65.
Second place was Wyndham Evans, who scored 65, with James Herdman (70) coming in third.
In the afternoon round, Kington junior captain Tom Ritchie won the best nett with a 63, followed by Sam Jones and George Smith.
The afternoon gross prize went to Kington member Mick Green, who carded a 74.
Meanwhile, the 36-hole gross competition was won by home player Ryan Hotchkiss with a total of 148, with Ludlow's Nigel Griffiths (149) coming in second and Lee Wilson 9152) third.
Next month, Kington will host an 18-hole open on Saturday, August 5.
