BOSS Kristian Morgan hailed frontman Mike Shillcock as Orleton Colts overturned a two-goal deficit to inflict a first league defeat of the season on HFA County League Premier Division leaders Hinton.

Despite giving away a pair of bad goals, Colts rallied to a 3-2 success at Broomy Hill following the introduction of substitutes Shillcock, Stephen Swan and Martin Edwards.

Soon after his introduction, Shillcock flicked on for Aaron Davey to halve the deficit and then provided the ammunition for Shane Jennings to scamper away and convert two one-on-ones.

The result marked Orleton’s sixth Herefordshire Premier win in a row.

“We knew we had the players to challenge and now we have a full squad to choose from every week, things have been different,” said Morgan.

“We changed things, brought on Mike up front and Stephen and Martin in midfield.

“Things began to turn once we got it down and started to play a bit of football on the ground.

“They couldn’t match us and Mike changed the game really.

“We scored three goals in about five minutes.

Division Two side leaders Kingstone Rovers are now the only unbeaten side in Herefordshire.

Chris James’ side saw theirderby against Dore Valley postponed on Saturday and were grateful to see title rivals Burghill lose 3-2 at Ross Juniors.

Florin Crainic, Ryan Shemwell and Aaron Waldron netted for Kingstone, while Kingsley Lawson and Jamie Pounder were on target for Burghill.

Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Wellington Reserves hammered Hereford Lads Club Reserves 12-1, while Westfields Reserves saw off Fownhope 2-1.

Tenbury Town also had a good win to maintain their advantage at the top of Division One, thrashing Orleton Colts Reserves 10-1.

Second-placed Hereford City beat Ludlow Colts 4-2 thanks to two Dermot Clarke goals.

Meanwhile, Bartestree and Ewyas Harold will fight for the HFA Charity Bowl after both won their semi-finals at the weekend.

Hat-tricks from Tom Bendall and Levi Ellis saw Bartestree hammer Ledbury 10-1, while Marc Avery, Karl Lewis, Luke Price and Jake Cleves were on target for Ewyas Harold in a 4-1 win against Tenbury United.
