LEOMINSTER are now up to sixth place in De Cymru & The Marches 1 of the GoCrea8 Hockey League following a thumping 5-0 win over Lydney.
The north Herefordshire side started slowly this season following relegation, but are now just two points behind county rivals Hereford, who lost 5-1 at Cirencester.
Ross – who started the season well – are now ninth following a run of defeats, their latest being a 3-2 loss at Cardiff & Met Seconds.
It was also a good win for Leominster's Ladies, who beat Bretforton 4-2 in the North Division of the West Clubs' Women's League.
Bretforton took the lead before Nina Emery equalised.
Leominster again found themselves behind, but Emery was again on the mark to make it 2-2 by half time.
Karen Hackley then put Leominster ahead for the first time and Lisa Ying Ling Cheung sealed the win.
In Premier Division 2A, Hereford lost 3-2 to Westberries, while the Seconds went down 2-1 to Cheltenham Fourths in Severn Division 1.
In the same division, Colwall & Malvern lost 6-0 to Cheltenham Thirds, while in Severn Division 3, Colwall & Malvern Seconds lost 1-0 to fellow strugglers Bourton & Sherborne Thirds. Ross beat Stroud Thirds 4-0.
Presteigne meanwhile claimed a 2-2 with Cardiff & Met Seconds in Premier 2 of the South Wales League.
Cardiff opened up a 2-0 lead before Presteigne hit back with goals from Jess Goodwin and Sioned Price.
